This page explains, in plain language, what happens to your files and your data when you use Sable.

How your files are processed
For every tool that's actually working (merge, split, compress, rotate, delete pages, extract pages, organize, watermark, page numbers, protect, and unlock), the PDF processing happens entirely in your browser using client-side code. Your file is not uploaded to a server to run a tool. Tools that don't have a working handler yet aren't available for use.
Account information
If you create an account, we store your email address and authentication details with Supabase, our authentication and database provider. You don't need an account to use any working tool.
Workspace storage (signed-in users only)
If you're signed in and choose to keep a result, the output file is uploaded to cloud storage scoped to your account, along with basic metadata — filename, size, tool used, page count — so it shows up in your dashboard and history. If you're not signed in, or you don't save a result, nothing about your file is stored anywhere; it exists only in your browser's memory while it's being processed.
Local storage and cookies
We use your browser's local storage to remember your language and theme preference, and to keep you signed in between visits. We don't use third-party advertising cookies.
Third-party services
Supabase processes data on our behalf for authentication, database, and file storage. We also use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to understand how the site is used (page views, clicks, and session recordings) — neither ever sees the files you process, since those never leave your browser. We don't sell your data to anyone.
Data retention and deletion
You can delete saved files from your workspace at any time. Deleting your account removes your stored files and processing history.
Children's privacy
Sable isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes to this policy
If our data practices change in a meaningful way, we'll update this page and change the date above.
